Healthy Ways To Prevent Heart Disease
Heart disease is the number one killer in the United States today. The disease is preventable in most cases by making just a few small lifestyle changes in what you eat, your daily exercise routines and if you smoke or not.
A few studies have found that you can greatly decrease your chances for heart disease by doing some of the following:
1. Daily exercise. Doing something simple as walking 1 mile a day which should only take about 20 minutes at the most can prevent heart disease.
2. Eating more whole grain foods, fish, unsaturated fats, and avoiding fast food, or extremely greasy foods.
3. Increase your intake of Monosaturated and Polysaturated fats. Monosaturated fats are things like olive oil, canola, peanut oils and some margarine's. Polysaturated fats are your Omega-3 and Omega-6 fatty acids. A good source of Omega-3 fatty acids are fish, flax seed, eggs and other Omega-3 fortified products such as milk and yogurt.
By making these 3 simple lifestyle changes you can prevent heart disease or reduce your risk of a heart attack, diabetes and other serious health issues.
